I can't stop listening to it. But I'm also a sucker for Damon Albarn. _________________ better drop the requirement that everything be great |

I came home on Saturday from seeing Sparks in Philadelphia, DC, Boston, and NYC. They were all great shows, Boston being the best of them because the audience was insane, and Russell LOVED it. This also meant that I got a copy of Madder! Porcupine is OK/good, but the other three songs are FABULOUS!! I haven't said that about any of the songs on MAD!, well, maybe JanSport backpack, which is strangely my favorite. I can't wait to hear your feelings about it. Mess Up is very Existential Threat-ish (but whoever doesn't like The Existential Threat might love it and not see any resemblance). Fantasize is sung in the first person but really describes all the "feels" of each of us drooling fans, including me. I won't say anymore. I hope you all like it as much as I do.
I have been having terrible trouble (again) getting onto the forum, especially from my phone, so see ya when I see ya. _________________ better drop the requirement that everything be great |

It's just entered the UK singles charts at no 73!! Brilliant news & it's sure to go higher. It sees Sparks back in the UK charts, even as featured artists. since '97's collaboration with Faith no More on 'This Town' which reached no 40 on the UK charts. _________________ The fan formally known as kermit

I'll leave it to those with more knowledge than me to unearth when Sparks were in Portugal........ |
I was at that festival (Primavera Porto) ... Sparks and Blur played on the same day. While Sparks performed, DA could be seen watching them from the side of stage. |

Not strictly true as it was a festival, but, yes, Blur headlined that day (and were blisteringly good). |

…and if I recall you quipped (paraphrasing a bit)”If Blur and Sparks ever collaborated they could be called BS!”
Which was in keeping with FFS…I appreciated the humour if no one else did 😜 |

If that was me ... thank you, sir! However, I can't help but think I'm not clever enough for that! |

#73 is okay, but I would have hoped for better, and I doubt that the track will re-enter the charts at any higher position, unfortunately. If this was 2005, The Happy Dictator would have charted in the top-10 easily - times have changed, and people listen to different things these days... in fact, a lot of the charts is filled with songs that aren't even new (e.g. a different Gorillaz song from 2005 which is currently at #22). |
