Ah, the Undertones so potently captured the mood of the time so well in their music, listening to that album now would have me falling out the back of Bedford van into an litter strewn alleyway in 1979. Unfortunately that being the power of the music seems is the reason for Feargal resisting the reunion of the Undertones. Saw the clip of him on Youtube with Erasure from May and he was sounding good. |

Weekend Millionaire, the debut album by Andy Lucas, whom I came across playing live recently. Its jazz but some of the chord sequences sound, to my (untrained, but Ron influenced) ear, almost as if from arresting classical pieces. Smokey vocals deliver lots of good songs from beginning to end on the CD. Having aired it to an equally impressed pro musician, I'm confident enough to give it 9/10.
As he's still an unknown, here's a link if anyone curious has five minutes to spare http://www.andylucasmusic.com/video[/i][/b] |

Glad you like it, deadcalm! Thanks for pointing out the Alan Price similarity which I'd failed to see. No wonder I like this guy - I'm a HUGE Alan Price fan!!!!
Listening to Portishead's Third - 7.5/10 so far.
