Well, newer DVD players can be picked up at lower and lowers prices, but not everyone has the extra cash on hand after paying the household bills and saving for the new Sparks material. The good news is most rental stores will rent a player rather inexpensively though. And, somewhere on this Forum was a posting with a web site on how you could adjust your DVD player with the remote to play other formats. I know they can be tweaked a bit.
