well, I had said earlier that I didn't particularly need an orchestral version of the album and was hoping it would be an opportunity to unveil some new material. that said, though, I'm glad they 're doing it and finding a way to commemorate this seminal album. Hope they DVD it, it'll be a great night!

That's really great news, and I'm already looking forward to how the songs will sound after being beefed up with an orchestra. The Heritage Orchestra did some shows with Tim Minchin a couple of years ago. Sparks really are the most hard-working band on the planet with this event happening alongside their work on TSOIB and with Franz Ferdinand.

why do the songs need to be "beefed up" by an orchestra?
I think they are already pretty good songs...

couldnt be more excited!  this will only be the 4th time Ive ever seen sparks and whilst Kimono isnt my favourite sparks album its definetly up there with my favourite sparks albums! and to top it all off a selection of tracks from there past catalogue! |

so my initial reaction to this was kind of "eh" but as I've learned more about the Heritage Orchestra, I think this could be a really exciting collaboration. Hope all those that can make it have a great time - I know you will!
