We are looking for fans who want to help us get the word out about Sparks

In the future we would provide you with material for you to distribute in your local area - whether in bars, restaurants, clubs... or wherever - you know your local area so you will know where will work best. The material may be fliers or posters or whatever works at that time

If you would like to join the Sparks Street Team send an email to info@republicmedia.net giving your name, country and town/city/village where you live

please put Sparks Street Team as the subject of your email

So, are R&R moving into the pizza delivery market?
I'm all for 'spreading the word' but doesn't this look just a little, well, desperate?

I wonder: Is it usual to ask fans to do the promotionnal work?
Of course, I want to help but perhaps things would be better made by professionnals???No????

I don't think it is at all desperate. What better way to spread the Sparks word than through proper true fans - not professionals who don't know them like we do. Just my opinion anyway.

Most all bands have a "street team" if you check out different websites like vh1 or fanscape or mtv for instance. It is not being desperate, it's being informative!

It is not desperate. Most fans want to want and like being involved. It's a win/win situation. As for the professionals, they direct the fans in the proper ways to help and provide the materials. I think the entire idea is a professional one. It's down right smart,if you ask me.

Years ago the "movie stars" had their fans handle fan mail - ironic, but true. Yes, their loyal fans would stuff autogaphed photos or letters in envelopes that they addressed and sealed and stamped - ahh the ol' days.

Quite right sparkette. I am sure the majority of the fans will want to help in any way they can. I have already got my posse of helpers ready - non Sparks fans but they are willing to trek the streets of Brum with me as my minders :-)) So the Birmingham contingent are ready!!

I may be a tad cynical...but there are unscrupulous people(even fans) who would "sign up"..just for the sake of getting their hands on some free posters and the like..to slap them on e-bay or use to swap for stuff they haven't been able to get..so they can pamp that onto e-bay before you can say BC!

Having said that...what about a snappy title for the Sparks"Street Teams"..to discern them from other groups doing the same...
...with apologies to Conan Doyle...and in memory of the original fanclub office...The Basing Street Irregulars(and I'd better say if people want to suggest names..perhaps to do it under The Stuff & Nonsense title, before I get into bother!!)

I work as a promotional agent for my favourite London night-club... Granted, it saves me £15 every Saturday night, but I enjoy spreading the word about the best dance venue in the country. Minimal tech-house rules - I gladly spread the word...

Hey, after 30 years of providing me with the best music in my life I would truly be honoured to spread the word by handing out whatever promotion is needed for our guys!!! It would be a great way of saying a big old Thank You for the music Mr Maels!!! Bring it on!! London, Islington awaits.....

As for me, the best thing we can do being totally away from their touring scheduled venues is to make people listen to their music. There's funny gig posters here in Moscow, like Jamiroquai......live........in.....(wherever, but not in Moscow, neither in Russia ). More ads like that, funnier it looks. The best way to make people like your music is to be modern & original. The best way to make people listen to your music is to play it live as often as your fingers and throat allows you to. Please go and spread the news. Maybe it'll persuade Sparks to play more often.
