Night or Day - Franz Ferdinand 7/10
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC1r33iVFAQ

The second single from their upcoming album is pretty good. It's better than the previous single "Audacious" imo. It sounds like Alex's voice got huskier than ever and I like it. I haven't been following them much these days but now I'm looking forward to the new album.

Jupiter from Planets by Gustav Holst

I'm not a classical guy which can be shortened to not classy if you prefer.

My classical influences are mostly from Bugs Bunny cartoons, ELO and Mott The Hoople playing 'Jupiter' before live performances.

So I'm watching 'Bluey' (kids cartoon) and the particular episode is a dream sequence taking place in outer space. The music is from "Planets" (thank goodness for closed caption telling me the music playing) and the last song was "Jupiter".

I actually recognized "Jupiter" from my CD version of Mott The Hoople Live and it was a goosebump moment. The first time that's happened hearing music on a children's show.

I feel compelled to give that episode of Bluey and the music a 10/10.

The viewer comments are outstanding

I’m more inclined towards Rossini when it comes to classical music…maybe through watching The Lone Ranger and William Tell as a youngster and maybe ( like you) Bugs Bunny classics, the Barber of Seville Bugs Bunny cartoon is absolute genius but a genius score to animate to and The Thieving Magpie is imo as instantly recognisable as anything by Beethoven.

The remixed Fresh Snow at Christmas Jethro Tull Christmas Album . Pretty good remix. As Seasonal albums go this one must be near the top of the listings

New Times Like Old Times by The Voltz
Neo retro-glam…the group nod towards Sparks, Mott, Roxy, Sweet as their influences. There isn’t a bad track on the album Fire Up Indigo and Glitterbomb are my current favourites but because each track is a belter it’s a hard choice to make. 10/10

Franz Ferdinand's new album Human Fear - 7.5/10

The sound is more solid and upbeat than their previous album Always Ascending. I like it!

Ezra Collective..... "Dance, no one's watching".... Really good, bouncy, dancy and a bit funky but from this Mercury winning act l was expecting something a wee bit more boundary pushing... All the same l do love it.

Bill Evans... "Everybody Digs Bill Evans"...... Well, the very title deserves an award. I tripped over this jazz pianist quite by accident and spookily enough listening to this CD l realised one of the pieces was used in the Sparks Brothers film... Great album and l will delve a little deeper into Bill Evans catalogue as a result. Highly recommend!

Sweet Illusions - Peter Capaldi 7/10
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7XDMfeDdJ0

I was listening to the BBC Radio Scotland when this song caught my ears. The voice sounded very familiar but I couldn't pin down who it was. I had no idea that actor (and ex-Doctor) Peter Capaldi is releasing an album in March, let alone the fact that it's his second album. 'Sweet Illusion' is the third single, following 'Bin Night' and 'Is It Today'.

I have to admit that I have a soft spot for singing actors, but I think it's a good track, especially with his soothing Bowie-esque voice.
